PLAYS

Night of the Living Dead

Night of the Living Dead is based upon the 1968 film directed by George A. Romero. This film launched the modern zombie genre and has been influential in horror for nearly 60 years!
The play brings the drama uncomfortably close to the audience and expands on Romero’s vision.

Summary:
Seven desperate people barricade themselves into a rural Pennsylvania farmhouse when corpses inexplicably begin to rise from the dead, seeking to devour human flesh. Will the group work together to survive or will their bigotry and arrogance lead to their doom?

Nosferatu

Nosferatu is based upon the 1922 German Expressionist film by F.W. Murnau and Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel, Dracula. At the time of filming, Nosferatu was an unauthorized adaptation of Dracula and Bram Stoker’s widow sued Murnau for copyright infringement. The court ordered all copies of the film destroyed, but fortunately many survived, creating one of the most influential horror films of all time.
The play brings the unsettling German Expressionist aesthetic to the stage, using contrasting light and minimal sets.

Summary:
The vampire, Count Orlock relocates from his ancient castle in Transylvania to the northern German town of Bremen, bringing plague and death with him. Only one pure of heart can defeat the vampire and lift the evil brought with him.
