Studio & Equipment
I record the bulk of my work right here in my broadcast-quality, professional home studio. The following is the equipment I use in my studio and the options I have to connect with you, should you wish you to direct or record me remotely.
The Neumann TLM 103 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone with cardioid pattern and my main mic. Neumann mics are industry standard in both commercial recording and pro home studios.
I also own the Rode NT1-A large diaphragm condenser microphone for different options.
AUDIO INTERFACE & EDITING
The audio chain can get very complicated very quickly! That's why I like to keep things simple. It allows me to focus on your project and giving a quality performance.
I use a Focusrite Scarlett Solo as my interface. This converts the analog audio signal to digital and goes into my Mac. I use TwistedWave as my DAW (Digital Work Station) for editing and voila! I can deliver your finished file via Dropbox, FTP or E-Mail. It's simple, efficient and professional.
REMOTE RECORDING & DIRECTING
I love working directly with my clients. You can direct me remotely via Skype, Zoom or even over the phone. If you have a studio and want me to patch in where your engineer can record me remotely, my studio is equipped with Source Connect Now and ipDTL--which allows studio quality, two-way communication across the internet, with no special equipment needed. You only need the Google Chrome Web Browser. (ipDTL can even connect with ISDN lines!) I can easily connect with you anywhere in the world!
The best audio equipment in the world won't make up for a bad recording environment. I have an acoustically treated vocal booth (Whisper Room™) that blocks outside noise and produces professional, clean audio. My studio has been has been evaluated and calibrated by George Whittam-- considered globally to be the top authority in voice-over recording technology and whose clients include the late Don LaFontaine, Bill Ratner, Randy Thomas, Joe Cipriano, and me!
